The Murder of the Famous Minstrel Reinmar of Brennenberg from the Codex Manesse, Switzerland (Zürich), 1300–1334.
Reinmar of Brennenberg was a knight and a minstrel in the 13th century. His songs were widely popular, and he was a dedicated crusader, participating in as many as seven crusades. Though he was not murdered himself, his son was, which most likely led to this mistaken depiction in the Codex Manesse.
